Hello everybody! Here is a peanut pancake aka Mee Jian Kueh from sunny #Singapore ??. This peanut pancake is a popular traditional snack in Singapore which can also be found at our neighbor Malaysia. It’s different than the kind of pancake from western cuisine – these are inch-thick round pancake folded over ground roasted peanuts and sugar which gives it a delightful contrasting flavor (sweet and savory) and texture (crispy and doughy). It is then cut into pieces that you see above. You can also add red bean paste for an extra sweet kick if you wish. These reminded me of Martabak from Indonesia, just healthier with way less condensed milk and butter ?. It’s perfect for tea time and only cost 90 cents a piece! I got this from Frankie’s Peanut Pancake which I have been eye-ing since I saw the snaking queue in front of the tiny stall after lunch time. I’m super lucky these are sold just above my new office at @TradeGecko in Telok Ayer street! Speaking of Telok Ayer, I’m totally in love with this location! Telok Ayer is a heritage district in Singapore, it’s one of the earliest streets back in the 1800s. You can see traditional colorful shophouses which has been restored to preserve the original shops, lining up the street with contrasting skyscrapers in the background. It is located just one street away from Singapore Central Business District. Does anyone know where I can still tapao coffee in a plastic bag around this area? Let me know!

2nd favorite #GirlEatWorld moment in 2015 is also from Australia ??, but a completely different part of the continent – the outback! This is a glass of white wine I had during the magical Sounds of Silence dinner with the view of Uluru. My experience in the outback can’t be summed up in an instagram post, so i’ll have a series of blog post coming up at my blog girleatworld.net! You can follow me at facebook.com/girleatworld to be notified when these posts finally come together. Waking up in your tent in the middle of the night to a repetitive thumping sound and peeking outside to find out it was a group of wild wallaby passing by your campground was… quite amazing to say the least. It’s a memory I will truly cherish forever. Thanks @yhaaustralia for sending me on this trip!

⛩??? A modern take of the well-loved, fish-shaped Taiyaki from a food market at Fushimi Inari in Kyoto by @op.118. Taiyaki normally contains red bean paste or custard cream, but this parfait one has whipped cream, chocolate pocky stick, green tea paste and red bean paste as well as crunchy cereal inside! Follow @op.118 who is currently touring through Japan. — On a separate note, I have been refreshing my Japanese knowledge using @iknowjp app which teaches you daily japanese vocabularies on-the-go through fun quizzes and games. Knowing these vocabularies has been extremely helpful for me on this trip! Since I have been having such a great experience with iknow.jp, I’m happy to share a free trial using the code ➡️?girleatworld16?⬅️. ???? The cuuuutest handmade cat donut from Floresta Nature Donuts @floresta_nature_doughnuts at Shin Kyogoku 新京極 Market in Kyoto. These are called Doubutsu Donut どうぶつドーナツ or “Animal Donut”. I have wanted one since I saw them on instagram awhile back! These animal donuts became a sensation about 4 years ago, created by Floresta in Nara. Due to the massive success of the animal donuts, they now have branches all over Kansai region (Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, etc)! There are many different animal designs, but this cat donut is one of their original designs. The donuts are all cake-based and the ears are made of almonds. So adorable! Special thanks to my friend @soulstruck for the tips ❤️! @op.118 and I practically ran to find these donuts when you told us there is one near Nishiki Market! #ShotOniPhone6s #ShotOniPhone6sPlus #toocutetoeat #floresta #どうぶつドーナツ #donutscookiesandcream #eeeeeats #buzzfeedfood
