Hummingbird – Hey everyone! It’s been a while, so here’s a nice perspective shot of my newest logo. “Where have you been?” To summarize: Started working at a cool new startup, baby on the way so we moved for some extra space (my desk toys needed their own office), and a bunch of weddings to go to. I’ve missed posting and want to maintain at least one post per week. A 52 week challenge, like the original Quillo 365 but a lot less work! #adobe #behance #dribbble #quillocreative
The Island – Worked on this one a bit last week and ended up redoing most of it today. You’ll notice a change in the style: No gradient or grain and the “rule break” of using a non circle fill. Livin’ life on the edge. Or should I say—path. Stop me now. Save your .png’s before it’s too late. #ctrls #illustration #dribbble #behance #quillocreative
365/365: Colorblind You wouldn’t think design would be the ideal career choice for someone who can’t tell the difference between blue/purple, pink/gray, etc. But it was never a choice I had to make, design or the drive to create was, and will continue to be, my passion. Thankfully, I have been blessed with a wife that would always help me define the colors in each post if I needed it. So why did God give me this love for design if I see colors differently than everyone else? I have always believed in pursuing ones passion, dream, etc. This project gave me a platform through which I could encourage people to pursue what they’re passionate about. So thank you for following along as I learned and shared each day. I’m going to keep doing what I love to do and I hope you all do the same. – Steven
362/365: Plant Have any of you started or are currently doing a 365 project? Comment the day you are on below so people can check out your work! One designer who I spoke to recently is currently on day 41 of his logo project. If you would like to start following another 365 logo journey check out @matzadesign Another logo account that’s gaining momentum is @col_stewart Although it’s not a 365 he posts regularly and uses some of the techniques that I use in my work. Hope you find new inspiration or get motivated to start your own 365 project. #dribbble #behance #logo #branding #quillocreative
358/365: Hidden Lake Wine Lots of detail went into this logo and it all revolved around the concept of a shattered wine bottle. The creation of the logo ended up being more like painting and then I reduced the number of anchor points to create the low poly style. The moon and trees were the last details added to the environment to cue the viewer to see the nature scene. Do you think they were necessary? Too detailed or just enough? #dribbble #behance #logo #branding #quillocreative
